Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is hiring for an Operator I at the Crum/Ridley Creek Water Treatment Plants in Pennsylvania. The role requires shift work and eventual assignment to a permanent shift, with license progression toward a Waterworks Class A license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years trade school or 2 years waterworks field experience.
• Must obtain Waterworks Class A license within 3 years of placement.
• Valid US driver’s license; CDL Class C with HazMat endorsement required within specified periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform labor intensive work.
• Overtime may be required to maintain continuous plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Crum Creek and, as needed, Ridley Creek treatment plants.
• Perform maintenance and repair of pumps, instruments, and chemical feed equipment.
• Compute chemical doses based on flow rates and treatment requirements.
