City of Salida is seeking dedicated and safety-minded individuals to join our Water Treatment Plant team as a Plant Operator (Class A, B, C, or D). This position operates, maintains, and monitors the water treatment facilities and raw water systems to provide safe, reliable drinking water.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Colorado Water Operator Certification (Class A-D) or actively pursuing certification or willing and able to obtain a certification within one year of hire.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• SCADA/HMI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment processes and equipment.
• Collect water samples and perform routine testing and analysis.
• Monitor chemical systems and treatment operations.
• Maintain plant equipment, facilities, grounds, and raw water conveyance systems.
• Complete operational records, reports, and compliance documentation.

This position plays a critical role in providing safe, reliable drinking water to our community through the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the City's water treatment facilities and raw water systems.

Compensation

$23.85 - $35.00/hour (hiring range) dependent upon experience and certifications

Schedule

Enjoy a four-day work week with a typical schedule of Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. This position also includes rotating weekend and on-call assignments (approximately once per month) and occasional emergency response responsibilities.
