SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Chief Water Plant Operator, performs any duties required to operate and maintain the water pumping stations, water treatment plants, water reservoirs, metering stations, collect distribution samples and participates in related tasks as needed. Assists in water operations and maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and make progressive efforts to acquire higher skill sets and licensure in Water Plant Operations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and work nights, weekends and holidays if needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Math skills to include the ability to use formulas related to volumes, areas, percent, dosages, and time. Ability to use American weight measurement as well as metric.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding. Able to carry out multiple and semi-complex instruction. Ability to deal with standard as well as occasional nontypical situations. Ability and desire to learn.
