Job summary

The Town of Cary's CAWTF is recruiting for a Water Treatment Plant Mechanic/Operator. You will perform skilled work in operation and maintenance of the plant, including sampling, regulating processes, and preventative and corrective maintenance under the supervision of the Facility Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.

This is a career ladder position; duties include maintenance of pumps, motors, and control systems (PLC/SCADA), record keeping, and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum C level surface water certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance such as greasing moving parts, oil changes, and visual inspections.
• Repair pumps, bearings, lamps, wiring harnesses, and related components.
