Job summary

The Cary-Apex Water Treatment Facility (CAWTF) in Apex, NC is hiring a Water Treatment Plant Mechanic/Operator to perform maintenance and operation duties. You will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, assist in PLC/SCADA control systems, and support both operations and maintenance teams in a demanding water-treatment environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• C-level surface water certification or ability to obtain within 1 year from date of hire.
• Water treatment or maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular preventative maintenance on pumps, motors and electrical systems.
• Operates and monitors plant controls and processes; may assist PLC/SCADA troubleshooting.
• Maintains equipment records and safety standards across the facility.
• Supports maintenance/operations teams and participates in corrective actions as needed.
