Job summary

The City of Lewiston is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to operate the water treatment plant and well system under supervision. You will perform water quality sampling and lab tests, maintaining records to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and standards.

Responsibilities include managing flow, calibrating dosages, operating SCADA, and conducting inspections. Competitive pay with benefits such as paid training, vacation accrual, retirement, and more.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and sufficient training or experience to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities listed herein.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Possess or acquire through reciprocity a valid Idaho Class I Water Treatment Operators License.
• Safety Sensitive Position.

Responsibilities

• Operate the water treatment plant, well system, and booster stations during an assigned shift.
• Control the flow of raw water and finished water to storage reservoirs.
• Perform water quality testing and lab tests.
• Calibrate chemical feeders and apply dosages per procedures.
• Maintain records and logs; prepare reports to EPA and other regulatory departments as required.
• Assist in plant inspections and standby for emergencies.
