Job summary

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to join its team in California. The role focuses on operating and monitoring water treatment systems, performing routine inspections, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collect samples, perform tests, and maintain accurate records while upholding safety standards and LOTO procedures. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a valid CA driver's license, and be willing to obtain CA T1 and D1

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a California Water Treatment Operator T1 certification within six months of employment.
• Ability and willingness to obtain a California Water Distribution Operator D1 certification within six months of employment.
• Possession of a current California T1 and/or D1 operator certification is preferred.
• Forklift, aerial lift, respiratory protection, first aid/CPR, HAZWOPER, and other industrial safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
• Perform routine inspections; report deficiencies; initiate corrective actions as required.
• Collect water samples and perform laboratory and field testing.
• Record and maintain operating data, lab results, and equipment readings.
• Analyze operating parameters and optimize system efficiency.
• Notify Lead Operator and Supervisor regarding issues and failures.
• Apply safety policies and LOTO procedures to protect personnel and environment.
• Maintain housekeeping and manage chemical inventories safely.
• Review procedures, drawings, and manuals to support operations.
• Coordinate shift turnover and communicate equipment status and concerns.
• Provide weekend/holiday/outage coverage as needed.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
