Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations and how to recognize hazards in the facility.
• Knowledge of water treatment plant operating procedures.
• Ability to repair and maintain water treatment equipment.
• Knowledge of chemicals used for water treatment and how to adjust chemical feed for optimum operations.

Responsibilities

• Operates water treatment equipment such as pumps, control panels, SCADA, chemical feeders, filters, motors and lab equipment.
• Reads meter gauges, maintains a log of readings, and makes adjustments as needed.
• Collects samples and performs standard tests, maintains records and reports test results.
• Maintains plant grounds, performs housekeeping and reports repairs; assists in repairs as needed.
• Attends classes required to maintain water treatment certification; may operate city vehicles.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
