Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED and English communication skills.
  • Enrollment in Texas Class D certificate program within 12 months of hire.
  • Must obtain a Class D certificate within 12 months and a C surface water cert within 2 years.
  • Background check, drug screen, and valid Texas Class C license required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain city water system under supervision.
  • Control treatment plant equipment to purify and clarify water for human consumption and industry.
  • Monitor pumps, valves, and chemical feed to regulate flow and disinfection.
  • Collect daily water samples and perform lab tests for pH, color, and impurities.
  • Record data in logs and maintain accurate chemical worksheets.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and safety procedures; follow city policies.
