Job summary

Stafford County is seeking Water Plant Operators to join our team. This role operates and monitors the drinking water treatment facility to ensure Safe Drinking Water Act compliance, proper chemical dosing, and reliable, safe water production.

Applicants must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays, respond to emergencies after hours, and possess a Virginia driver's license. Compensation ranges from $25.26 to $54.18 per hour, depending on class and experience, with a clear path

Qualifications

• Experience with drinking water treatment principles and regulations.
• Ability to perform routine water quality tests and log data accurately.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the water treatment process to meet regulatory requirements.
• Record readings and maintain logs of operations and quality data.
• Adjust chemical feeds to maintain target water quality objectives.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies following established procedures.
