Job summary

City of Seattle's Seattle Public Utilities seeks a Transmission Section Manager to lead the Water Transmission section, oversee crews and budgets, and implement strategic improvements to the drinking water system. In this role you will manage 25 FTEs, drive performance metrics, and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

The position requires in-person work at office/field locations, with a strong focus on leadership, policy development, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in water distribution/transmission or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related field or two additional years of relevant experience.
• Current WDM III certification or ability to obtain within twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Water Transmission section, including 25 FTEs.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, and fiscal management; allocate resources.
• Provide technical guidance on maintenance and operation of the water system.
• Develop policy options and recommendations for important issues.
• Represent the City on policy issues and coordinate with external stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across divisions to achieve key outcomes.
