Job summary

Western States Metal Roofing is seeking an experienced Water Tight Warranty Inspector to perform field inspections of metal roofing systems to verify installations meet Western States Metal Roofing requirements, approved details, and applicable warranty specifications.

This is a hands-on field position requiring strong knowledge of standing seam metal roofing systems, flashing details, roof penetrations, substrates, and proper installation practices. Travel across the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial metal roofing or architectural sheet metal installation preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings, roofing details, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform jobsite inspections for projects requiring a Water Tight Warranty.
• Conduct pre-installation, progress, and final inspections as required.
• Verify installations meet approved shop drawings, details, and warranty requirements.
• Inspect panels, clips, fasteners, seams, flashing, penetrations, curbs, transitions, and waterproofing areas.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate corrective action to contractors.
• Take photos and prepare inspection reports of conditions and findings.
• Follow up on corrective work and verify deficiencies are resolved before warranty approval.
• Travel to jobsites across the United States as required.

Full-Time | Travel Required

Western States Metal Roofing is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Water Tight Warranty Inspector to join our team. This position will be responsible for performing field inspections of metal roofing systems to verify that installations meet Western States Metal Roofing requirements, approved details, and applicable warranty specifications.

This is a hands-on field position and is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of standing seam metal roofing systems, flashing details, roof penetrations, substrates, and proper installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform jobsite inspections for projects requiring a Western States Metal Roofing Water Tight Warranty.
• Conduct pre-installation, progress, and final inspections as required.
• Verify roofing systems are being installed in accordance with approved shop drawings, installation details, and warranty requirements.
• Inspect panel installation, clips, fasteners, seams, flashing, penetrations, curbs, transitions, valleys, eaves, ridges, and other critical waterproofing areas.
• Identify installation deficiencies and clearly communicate required corrective action to contractors and project representatives.
• Take detailed photographs and prepare professional inspection reports documenting jobsite conditions and findings.
• Follow up on corrective work and verify deficiencies have been resolved before warranty approval.
• Work closely with contractors, project managers, architects, sales representatives, and Western States Metal Roofing management.
• Assist contractors with questions regarding proper installation techniques and approved details.
• Maintain accurate records for each warranty project.
• Travel to jobsites throughout the United States as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with commercial metal roofing or architectural sheet metal installation strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of standing seam metal roof systems and waterproofing principles.
• Ability to read construction drawings, roofing details, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Ability to recognize improper installation conditions and clearly explain corrective actions.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Professional communication skills when working with contractors, customers, architects, and project managers.
• Comfortable working independently and making field decisions.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including overnight travel.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular work on active construction sites. Candidates must be able to:

• Safely climb ladders and access commercial roofing systems.
• Work at heights and on sloped roofing surfaces.
• Walk and inspect large roof areas.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Follow all required jobsite and fall-protection safety procedures.
