Job summary

Town of Groton is seeking a Water Technician for a full-time position. The role covers operation and maintenance of pumping stations, treatment and distribution systems to ensure reliable water for domestic use and fire protection.

On-call rotation is required, with duties ranging from plant upkeep to customer service and coordination with external contractors. Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 3–5 years related experience, and Massachusetts Drinking Water

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years related experience.
• Massachusetts Drinking Water Supply License: Grade I-Treatment and Grade II Distribution; valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water pumping stations, treatment and distribution systems.
• Provide safe, reliable water for domestic use and fire protection; minimize cost.
• Coordinate with town agencies, private property owners, and contractors; oversee projects and repairs.
• Respond to emergencies; manage water quality and pressure.
• Support on-call rotation as required; perform other duties as assigned.
