The City of Glendale’s Water Services Department is seeking a System Technician to perform skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work in the Storm Water division. The role requires operating a range of equipment and adhering to safety standards while maintaining records and coordinating with residents.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in construction, maintenance, and repair work and/or operation of related equipment.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable.
• Must understand safety regulations and be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work.
• Operates light, medium, and heavy equipment including 3-ton utility truck, backhoe, jetter and vacuum truck, dump truck, crane truck, hydro-excavation equipment and CCTV.
• Uses power and hand tools and ensures safety compliance on site.
• Maintains daily work records and performs data entry tasks.
• Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs water mains, sewer mains, valves, hydrants, and meters.
• Responds to water outages and customer complaints; conducts on-site safety checks.
• Drives city vehicles requiring a CDL; participates in safety training.
• Investigates sewer odors, obstructions, and storm water related issues.
