Job summary

City of Grand Prairie is looking for a maintenance worker to support water production systems. You will perform valve and pump maintenance, sample water for quality, and assist SCADA maintenance to ensure reliable operation.

The role includes on-call pager rotation for emergencies, monitoring hydrants, planning materials, and preparing daily work orders and reports. Qualifications include a high school equivalent, 1–2 years related maintenance experience, and licensing: Class A CDL with Tanker

Qualifications

Basic operational, technical, or office knowledge equivalent to four years of high school.
1–2 years related maintenance and repairs of water storage tanks, lift stations, and wells preferred.
Ability to read and write simple sentences and perform basic arithmetic.
Assists in obtaining required CDL and water distribution licenses with on-site training.

Responsibilities

Perform valve and pump maintenance and system checks.
Monitor flashing fire hydrants and water sampling for quality.
Support SCADA maintenance and radio communications equipment.
Prepare daily work orders and reports; process overtime and leave requests.
Maintain and secure materials and equipment for projects; ensure timely completion.
