Job summary

Kleinfelder is hiring a Water System Operator for the Elm Creek, Nebraska area. This flex position performs essential operations to ensure the safe and efficient running of our water supply and wastewater facilities, with roughly 75% field work and 25% office time.

Responsibilities include operating pumps and filtration units, monitoring meters, collecting samples, and maintaining logs and reports. Applicants must hold a valid Water License (Class I or higher) and reside within 50 miles of Elm

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and analytical thinking.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Must live in Elm Creek, Nebraska or within 50 miles and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps, motors, blowers.
• Complete and follow-up on work orders and process control monitoring.
• Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
• Service and maintain equipment and overall plant.
• Clean sand filters and media filters.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls.
• Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain of custody.
• Log plant operation details and prepare reports.
• Monitor treatment processes and apply standard operational adjustments.
