Job summary

Kleinfelder in Ocala, Florida seeks a Water System Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of our water and wastewater plants. This flex role offers up to 15 hours per week, with a mix of field and office duties and a path to multiple levels based on experience and state licenses.

You will operate pumps, monitor meters, collect samples, log operations, and prepare reports, while maintaining compliance with license requirements and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and analytical abilities required.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• 75% field work and 25% office time.
• Must live in Ocala or within 50 miles; valid driver’s license required.
• License requirements: Class D or higher Water License; Class C or higher Wastewater License.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps, motors, and blowers.
• Complete and follow-up on work orders and process control monitoring.
• Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours.
• Service and maintain equipment and the overall plant.
• Log plant operation details and prepare reports.
• Monitor treatment processes and adjust operations as needed.
