Ogden City Government seeks a Maintenance Technician I to join the Public Services Water Utility division. The role involves reading meters, maintaining pipelines, working with SCADA systems, and servicing meters and related equipment.

The position requires a year of general maintenance experience and high school diploma, with CDL/Grade IV certificate desirable. Employee will participate in safety training, operate city vehicles, and support emergency responses after hours.

Qualifications

• At least one year of general maintenance experience in the assigned area.
• Six months experience with computerized data entry is desirable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Any combination of experience and education likely to provide required knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Read water meters, record consumption, and identify meter issues.
• Operate maintenance machines, perform shoveling, and lay/repair pipelines.
• Read meters with manual/electronic methods and report conditions to supervisor.
• Provide water utility customer services including re-reading meters and notices.
• Assist in installation and maintenance of water mains and hydrants as needed.
• Inspect meter rings and boxes for safety; perform preventive maintenance.
• Direct and control traffic around work sites; ensure safety of public.
