Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication, outdoors work willingness.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic engineering software is a plus.

The Wellesley Water Department is seeking a motivated engineering student for an internship opportunity. Under the supervision of the Water Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Water Analyst, the intern will assist department personnel in various water system management tasks. This position provides valuable hands‑on experience in municipal water operations, data collection, and engineering‑related projects.

The rate of pay for this position will be$22/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with surveying assignments related to water system infrastructure.
• Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for system mapping and data collection.
• Support data collection and analysis efforts to enhance water system efficiency.
• Participate in civil engineering activities, including reviewing infrastructure components and assisting with design considerations.
• Work collaboratively with water department personnel on projects related to water quality, distribution, and system maintenance.
