Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking an Engineer in the Water Discipline for our Reading, MA office. The role targets 0–4 years of experience and focuses on evaluation, design and construction of public water infrastructure in the northeastern United States.

Located in Reading, MA, the position requires AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, strong Excel data analysis skills, and solid communication abilities. Some travel and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with wastewater emphasis is required.
• Experience: 0–4 years in evaluation, design and construction of public infrastructure.
• EIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers with engineering studies, plans and specs.
• Visit job sites for field tests, data gathering, inspections, and construction observation.
• Prepare technical reports and perform data analysis in Excel.
• Contribute to water-related civil engineering projects as workload allows.
• Travel as required.

Weston & Sampson is hiring an Engineer with our Water Discipline with 0 to 4 years of experience in our Reading, MA office locations. The candidate will have experience in evaluation, design, and construction of public infrastructure in the northeastern United States.

Salary Range: $72,000 - $78,000

What you’ll do

• Assist project managers with the preparation of engineering studies, design plans and specifications.
• Visit job sites to perform project tasks including field tests, data gathering, field inspections, surveying and construction observation.
• Office work may include engineering design, data review and tabulation, data management and analysis, and preparation of technical reports.
• Expected to work on a variety of civil engineering projects at any given time as workload requires, but an emphasis will be placed primarily on water related projects.
• Willing to travel as required

What you will bring

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering with wastewater process and treatment emphasis
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and design skills
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• EIT Certification is a plus
• Construction experience is a plus
• Engineering Consulting industry experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning as new tasks are assigned and new projects are undertaken
• Valid driver’s license required
