Job summary

The City of Nampa is seeking a Water Systems Operator to perform routine and skilled work on domestic and pressurized irrigation water systems. Work is performed under supervision with opportunities for independent judgment and collaboration with regulators and the public.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining water distribution components, responding to calls, and ensuring safety and quality according to SDWA guidelines. Training and long-term growth are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Water Distribution I License required.
• Experience in water distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and inspect water line installations and equipment per regulations.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls addressing pressure and water quality concerns.
• Monitor pump operations, chemical use, and testing activities; troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Sample and deliver water samples for lab analysis.
• Assist with maintenance and design of irrigation wells to improve efficiency.
