Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Water Tank Engineer to join our Water & Wastewater Facilities Group. You will plan, design, inspect, and rehabilitate water storage tanks, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within budget and schedule.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Structural Eng, a VA P.E. license (or within 6 months), and 5–10 years of relevant experience.

Formación

• ABET-accredited program required
• P.E. license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months
• 5–10 years in water tank design, inspection, or rehab
• Proficient in engineering software (RISA, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects independently
• Willingness to travel for field work and site inspections

Responsabilidades

• Perform structural design and analysis of water storage tanks (elevated, ground, standpipe)
• Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and prepare technical reports
• Prepare design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations
• Develop rehabilitation strategies for existing tank infrastructure (coatings, repairs, upgrades)
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with standards (AWWA, OSHA, local/state codes)
• Assist with permitting and construction administration
• Support business development through proposals and presentations
