Job summary

University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a UC Cooperative Extension Area Water and Soil Resources Advisor serving Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Marin Counties.

The advisor will lead applied research and extension programs focused on irrigation water management, soil health, and sustainable groundwater use to support wine grape growers and other regional agriculture.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a relevant field.
• Experience with irrigation, groundwater, experimental design, statistics, soil, water quality and GIS/remote sensing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to UC ANR mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop an applied research and extension program on irrigation water management and soil health for four counties.
• Engage with wine grape growers and other agricultural sectors to promote climate-smart water and soil practices.
• Provide education and outreach through workshops, field demonstrations, and other formats; travel to counties as needed.
