Job summary

The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) in Hartford, CT, seeks a very responsible utility repair supervisor to oversee medium-size crews and coordinate water and sewer pipeline emergencies, leaks, investigations and repairs. The role requires knowledge of construction, repair, and maintenance of pipelines to ensure timely completion of projects.

The incumbent will direct a work crew operating heavy equipment, install or repair pipeline systems, and oversee sanitary and storm sewer cleaning,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent plus six years of progressively responsible utility pipeline repair or construction experience including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise medium size work crews and coordinate water and sewer pipeline emergencies, leaks, investigations and repairs.
• Direct and supervise work in operating heavy equipment and installation or repair of pipeline systems.
• Direct sanitary sewer and storm sewer and catch basin cleaning, pumping operations, and leak investigations.
