Job summary

The City of Fayetteville is seeking a skilled Water & Sewer Technician to join our Public Works team. This position helps maintain water and sewer systems, installs mains, and performs on-call duties to ensure uninterrupted service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a CDL with tanker endorsement within six months. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL Class A with tanker endorsement within six months.
• Available to work evenings and weekends for emergencies or on call.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations and communicate effectively.
• Proficiency with heavy equipment and safety gear preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service to internal and external customers.
• Gather supplies and equipment for job assignments.
• Fix water and sewer leaks to maintain lines.
• Install mains and taps for water and sewer.
• On-call duty 24/7 including holidays.
• Drive truck and operate backhoe/dump truck.
• Maintain tools and equipment; ensure safety.
