Job summary

Montgomery Water Works & Sanitary Sewer Board is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Utility Worker to assist with water distribution and wastewater collection facilities, performing installation, maintenance, and repair tasks under supervision. The role may involve skilled and semi-skilled work and requires readiness for on-the-job learning.

Compensation starts at $20.63-$32.27 per hour for full-time work, with biweekly pay and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.
• Must obtain Class A CDL by end of probation.
• Obtain Class A-N CDL per policy.

Responsibilities

• Obey safety rules and operate tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain, repair, and service water mains, pipes, fittings, hydrants.
• Replace and maintain meters and fittings.
• Repair wells, pumps, and associated equipment; assist with chlorination.
• Operate and drive light equipment and trucks; perform grounds work.
• Work long hours including nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
