Job summary

Montgomery County in Ohio is seeking a Full Performance Level Construction Inspector to monitor underground utilities and infrastructure projects under supervision. Qualifications

• Equivalent to a high school diploma and four years in a full-performance level construction trade or four years of experience inspecting underground utility installation or infrastructure.
• Or completion of Associate Degree core coursework in engineering, architecture, or construction management and two years of related experience.
• Must maintain a current, valid United States driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and documents the construction of county water, wastewater, solid waste district and other department infrastructure projects for compliance with approved plans and county standards.
• Represents the County’s interests in meetings with builders, contractors, homeworkers and local zoning officials; provides technical support to project engineers and vendors.
• Coordinates resources needed to accomplish tasks; compiles daily reports, reviews invoices and approves payments for work completed.
• Plans backflow inspections, assesses risk, and ensures backflow prevention assemblies are correctly installed and compliant.
• Performs related duties as required and enforces corrective measures or issues stop-work orders when necessary.
