Job summary

The City of Glenpool, OK is seeking a Water & Sewer Equipment Operator to assist with the maintenance, repair, and operation of water distribution and sewer systems. You may operate equipment such as a backhoe, mini excavator, hydro vacuum equipment, and jet/rodder tools as needed to support the Water & Sewer Department.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work non-traditional hours, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Requirements: High school diploma/GED.
• Direct Supervisor: Water & Sewer Superintendent.
• Supervisory Responsibility: None.
• Primary Work Location: Outdoors.
• Physical requirements: Often required to work non-traditional hours incl. weekends, holidays, and nights; lift and move >50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution and sewer lines.
• Operate backhoes, mini excavators, hydro vacuum equipment and jet/rodder equipment as needed.
• Perform excavation and related work safely around utilities and infrastructure.
• Follow State and Federal regulations and City safety procedures for trenching and operation.
• Assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and service of water/sewer systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks on vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Assist other Public Works staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
