Placements24 is seeking a skilled Civil Design Engineer to contribute to critical water and sanitation infrastructure projects in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will lead detailed hydraulic modeling, design water distribution networks, pump stations, and wastewater systems.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, ECSA registration, and at least five years of experience with WaterGEMS/EPANET and AutoCAD. You will collaborate with project teams to deliver compliant, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resource or environmental engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng.) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, EPANET) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes, pipe network analysis, and wastewater collection systems.
• Experience with storm water management design is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in Tembisa, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed hydraulic modeling and analysis for water supply and sewerage systems.
• Design water distribution networks, pump stations, reservoirs, and wastewater collection systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant design software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design for new water and sanitation projects.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to integrate designs with overall project objectives.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and construction phase support.
• Review designs from external consultants and contractors.
• Contribute to the development of asset management and maintenance strategies for water infrastructure.
• Participate in site visits for data collection and construction verification as needed.
