Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Water Resources Specialist to support administration, protection, and management of water rights, data, and regulatory obligations. The role provides field and data support to ensure water rights stay in good standing, and reporting obligations are met.

It involves coordinating with multiple departments and external agencies, and performing routine field work at remote sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical education is preferred, or commensurate years of industry experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Experience with GIS and various database platforms is preferred.
• Experience in a mining or industrial environment is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities, meet regulatory deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to review data and documentation for accuracy and reasonableness, identify anomalies or missing information, and seek clarification or elevate issues when needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Compile, organize, and maintain data and supporting documentation for filings and regulatory obligations.
• Draft administrative forms for management review; track permit deadlines and obligations.
• Collect, compile, validate, and maintain pumpage, water-level, and related water-use data; prepare summaries and reports.
• Maintain accurate databases and records for water rights, wells, and related documentation.
• Perform routine field work including meter readings and site investigations; record GPS coordinates and field observations.
• Identify data gaps or discrepancies and elevate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Environmental, Operations, Legal, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Support projects related to water-right strategy and data collection procedures.
