The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is offering a dynamic Water Reuse Co-Op Internship in its Water Quality Section at the Pure Water Southern California Demonstration Plant in Carson, CA. This in-person, part-time role provides engineering, field, and lab experience under guidance from water quality technicians, specialists, and engineers.

Qualifications

• Must currently be enrolled in a four-year college or university; sophomore or junior standing; 2.75 GPA or higher.
• Graduate degree students in a related major with GPA 2.75+ may qualify.
• Enrollment in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and document active treatment processes.
• Assist with sample collection, preparation, and routine water quality testing.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and SOP compliance while handling chemicals safely.
• Assist with literature research, technical reports, and document editing.
