Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is seeking a Part-Time MWD Water Reuse Co-Op Intern to support the Pure Water Southern California Demonstration Plant. The role involves field and lab tasks, data handling, and reporting under supervision, with 8–10 hours weekly (7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.).

Applicants must be enrolled in a four-year degree program (Civil/Chemical/Chemistry/Environmental Eng.), with a GPA of 2.5+ and two years remaining before graduation. Driving and background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year degree program in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Engineering.
• Sophomore, junior, or early senior status with approximately two years remaining before graduation.
• Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 in relevant coursework (chemistry, mathematics, physics, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide both field and laboratory support for the Pure Water Southern California Demonstration Plant.
• Interpret process flow diagrams and review treatment processes for design applicability.
• Assist with sample collection, water quality testing, data entry, and lab organization.
• Organize and plot datasets and assist with technical report writing and literature research.
• Handle chemicals in the laboratory following safety practices and SOPs.
• Utilize Windows software and basic laboratory instrumentation knowledge.
