Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Water Reuse Engineer in California to advance our water reuse practice and support regulatory permitting, planning, and design efforts across the West.

The role involves conducting analyses, modeling, and preparing deliverables such as reports, plans, and specifications with minimal supervision, while collaborating with industry leaders and mentoring junior staff. Opportunities include broader water/wastewater design and regulatory projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field required.
  • Master's degree in environmental engineering or related field preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred or pursuing license.
  • 7+ years of experience in wastewater, drinking water, and/or water reuse preferred.
  • Experience with water reuse planning, permitting, and advanced treatment design.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical analyses and evaluate sustainable environmental engineering solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Design environmental protection systems and infrastructure per regulatory and project requirements.
  • Develop facility, watershed, or resource management plans with defined scopes and objectives.
  • Analyze data sets for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
