Job summary

The Arizona Department of Water Resources seeks a Water Resources Specialist 2 or 3 for the Statewide AMA Section, Conveyances team in Phoenix. The role involves processing groundwater rights applications, including water exchanges and conveyances of Irrigation Grandfathered Rights, while coordinating legal, technical, and reporting requirements across department programs.

This hybrid position requires a minimum of two days on-site per week and offers the ability to work remotely within Arizona

Qualifications

• Four years of professional water resource management experience (WRS 2) or seven years (WRS 3), or equivalent education combinations.
• Knowledge of Arizona groundwater statutes, rules, and water exchange/conveyance processes.
• Proficiency with GIS, ArcMap, and water resource management databases.
• Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to independently manage complex multi-step application processes and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
