Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, a PE license, and 8–15+ years of water resources engineering experience. Job description

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to lead impactful stormwater, watershed, and hydraulic engineering projects across Connecticut. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage complex public and private sector work while mentoring staff and growing client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Manage planning, analysis, and design of water resources projects 💧
  • Lead stormwater management, drainage, flood control, and watershed studies
  • Serve as Project Manager for municipal, state, and private clients
  • Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and permitting efforts
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients
  • Supervise and mentor engineers and technical staff
  • Support proposals, business development, and client growth
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • PE license required (CT preferred or ability to obtain)
  • 8–15+ years of water resources engineering experience
  • Strong background in stormwater, drainage, and floodplain analysis
  • Experience managing projects and multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Experience
  • Permitting experience with Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) ⭐
  • Familiarity with FEMA flood studies and mitigation projects
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, SWMM, or similar modeling tools
  • Municipal or DOT drainage project experience a plus
