Job summary

RESPEC is seeking a Water Resource Project Engineer to join our Water market sector in Sarasota or Tampa, FL. The role involves planning, design, and specialty services for stormwater and water resources projects across public and private clients.

You will perform hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain analyses, and watershed modeling while coordinating environmental compliance and permitting. Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with diverse teams are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of stormwater or water resources engineering experience.
• PE license in Florida or ability to obtain within 1 year of start date.
• Practical application of various H&H software (e.g. BMP Trains, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF, ICPR, MODRET, StormCAD, StormWise, SWMM, etc.).
• At least 3 years mentoring and leading junior engineers in technical and non-technical aspects of stormwater engineering.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and supervise stormwater and water resources projects.
• Conduct hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain analyses and watershed modeling.
• Coordinate environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with clients and internal project teams.
