Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior engineering professional to plan, lead, and deliver hydrologic/hydraulic projects in Kansas. You will plan discipline work, manage schedule and budget, and support proposals.

We require a PE certification, a strong understanding of cross-disciplinary design, and experience guiding project teams to meet objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience (or higher degrees with fewer years).
  • PE certification is required.
  • Ability to understand design decisions and plan work across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, and manage schedule and budget.
  • Assist with marketing tasks, including proposal generation.
  • Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects within discipline.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work within the discipline.
  • Guide and mentor team toward project objectives.
  • Coordinate technical aspects with client and teaming partners at staff level.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Understands the impacts of decisions on technical design and work planning.
  • Coordinates work planning and design effectively across multiple technical disciplines.
  • Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.
  • Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
