Job summary

GKY, part of True Environmental, is seeking an experienced water resources leader to manage municipal projects in Virginia, including modeling, QA/QC, and technical writing. You will build and maintain client relationships, oversee proposals, and guide staff development within a growing environmental engineering practice.

The role requires 15+ years in water resources, a VA PE license or eligibility, and strong communication and management skills to deliver high-quality environmental solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with water resources coursework
• 15+ years of experience managing water resources projects
• Licensed Professional Engineer in VA or eligible within 3–6 months
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
• Experience with FEMA floodplain management
• Experience with client service management
• Experience with mapping and data analysis using ArcGIS
• Experience with contract and task order management
• Be dependable, responsible, and have good communications skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable

Responsibilities

• Manage water resources projects end-to-end, including project management, modeling, deliverables, QA/QC, and technical writing/editing
• Develop and maintain client relationships, lead proposals, oversee fee proposals, and deliver presentations
• Lead people management, coaching, and mentoring of technical staff
• Direct corporate administration duties, including project approvals, financial forecasts, and management reports
