Job summary

The Arizona Department of Water Resources seeks a Water Resources Manager Senior to oversee the Assured and Adequate Water Supply Programs, evaluating 100-year water supply before home sales in Active Management Areas and outside them.

This senior manager will lead a team of hydrogeologists and water resource specialists, manage complex policy and technical work, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and report to the Deputy Assistant Director of Planning and Permitting.

Qualifications

• Ten years of professional water resource management experience, or equivalent education and experience combination.
• Supervisory and management experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to handle complex regulatory and technical matters.
• Skill in analyzing and developing policy recommendations and managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to lead others, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with government agencies, stakeholders, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Assured and Adequate Water Supply Programs evaluating 100-year supply for home sales in AMAs and outside them.
• Lead a team of hydrogeologists and water resource specialists.
• Manage complex policy and technical work and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
