Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Water Resources Intern for Summer 2027 in our Richmond, VA office to contribute to drainage design, calculations, CAD support, and field data collection on transportation projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, strong communication, and attention to detail. Candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources engineering or related fields and should be proficient in MS Office;

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Environmental/BioAg Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with VHB staff to advance projects.
• Assist engineering calculations, analyses, and report prep.
• Assist development of drainage designs for transportation projects.
• Provide CAD support for design projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs and construction estimates.
• Conduct field investigations and data collection.
