Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. seeks an established Water Resources leader to head the Wilmington, NC practice. You will oversee staffing, supervision and growth, while managing municipal stormwater and CIP projects.

The role involves business development, client relations and public engagement across multiple ESP offices. Responsibilities include team leadership, planning studies, model-based analyses, contract administration, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or related engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in North Carolina.
• 10+ years of professional engineering design and project management experience.
• Strong background in Stormwater and Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
• Excellent financial management skills.
• Experience with local codes, ordinances and public agency standards.
• Strong business development skills and knowledge of the local market.
• Ability to liaison with public sector clients and manage projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with QA/QC programs and staff mentoring.
• Pass drug screen, background check, and driving record compliance.

Responsibilities

• Establish, lead and grow the Water Resources team in the Wilmington, NC office.
• Partner with clients on planning studies and modeling for municipal water projects.
• Prepare and review statements of qualifications.
• Oversee design development, contract docs, cost estimates, and client relations.
• Mentor staff and drive overall growth of the group.
• Present to public officials and engage with the community.
• Lead business development, networking and backlog reporting.
• Prepare project contracts, invoicing and financial reporting.
