Job summary

GKY, part of True Environmental, seeks an Associate GIS Specialist to blend GIS analysis with fieldwork for municipal clients in Northern Virginia. You’ll support stormwater projects, map data, and aid regulatory compliance while growing into leadership roles.

Ideal candidates have GIS degrees and hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro/Online, field data collection, and strong communication skills. This hybrid role offers both office and field work across Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
0 to 4 years of GIS, environmental consulting, or field investigation experience.
Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and mobile GIS applications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for water resources, stormwater, and regulatory programs using GIS.
Develop and maintain geodatabases, GIS apps, and data collection tools.
Create high‑quality maps, graphics, and spatial analyses.
Perform field investigations and collect GPS data for inspections.
Prepare inspection reports and technical memoranda.
Assist with procedures and documentation; communicate with clients and agencies.
