Petroplan is seeking a Water Resources Lead for a well-established engineering firm with offices across North Carolina, Texas, and Florida. The role centers on leading project delivery, expanding the Water Resources practice, and strengthening client relationships in the public sector.
You will guide strategic direction, identify new markets, and help grow the team while delivering high-quality water/wastewater projects.
My client, a well established, full service engineering firm with offices across North Carolina, Texas, and Florida, is seeking a Water Resources Lead to join their team in any of their office locations. This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to play a key role in expanding the firm's Water Resources practice and strengthening client relationships across its predominantly public sector client base.
The existing Water Resources team primarily delivers water and wastewater projects, although the firm is open to broadening its capabilities by bringing in someone with experience across other areas of water resources engineering. This creates an opportunity for the successful candidate to influence the strategic direction of the practice, identify new markets and service opportunities, and build on the firm's existing client relationships and reputation.
Working closely with the Vice President of Water Resources and the executive leadership team, you will take a leadership role in overseeing project delivery, developing existing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving the strategy for sustainable practice growth. You will also play an integral role in developing and strengthening the team, identifying future hiring needs, enhancing technical capabilities, and creating the structure needed to support the practice's long-term ambitions.
This is an opportunity for someone who either already possesses, or someone wanting to develop the skills to combine technical leadership and business development, and who wants to make a meaningful impact beyond individual project delivery. You will have the support and resources of an established engineering firm, alongside the opportunity to influence business strategy, contribute to the growth of the team, and help build a stronger, more diverse Water Resources offering.
A culture-first organization, the firm is committed to developing its people and future leaders. Every hire is carefully considered to ensure the right individual has the opportunity, support, and resources to succeed, while contributing to the firm's continued success. An award-winning and evolving business, the firm prioritizes collaboration, professional development, and creating an environment where talented people can build long‑term careers and make a lasting impact.
In addition to a competitive compensation package, this opportunity offers a path to ownership through restricted stock options after two years, subject to individual performance and applicable incentive criteria. For the right candidate, this represents an opportunity to contribute to the firm's future growth while sharing in its long‑term success.
