Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Active Professional Engineer (PE) for a national environmental consulting and ecological restoration firm. Based in the Richmond area, the role focuses on stream and wetland restoration, water resources projects, and client management.

Qualified candidates have a PE license and ~15+ years of progressive engineering experience, with strong hydrology/hydraulics knowledge and regulatory understanding.

Qualifications

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Approximately 15+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience leading engineering projects involving stream restoration, wetland restoration, stormwater management, or water resources.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles, hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing technical documents and performing QA/QC.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering projects involving stream and wetland restoration, stormwater management, and water resources.
  • Manage client relationships and coordinate with public agencies and private developers.
  • Mentor and lead engineering teams; oversee QA/QC of technical documents.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and design principles.
  • Drive business development and project pursuits where applicable.

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Approximately 15 or more years of progressive engineering experience.

  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles, hydrology, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing technical documents and performing quality assurance/quality control.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience within an environmental consulting firm.
  • Experience supporting transportation, utility, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
  • Existing relationships with regulatory agencies and public-sector clients within Virginia or neighboring states.
  • Experience contributing to business development, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
  • Familiarity with restoration construction methods and field implementation.
