Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to join the Southeast Water Team in Raleigh, NC for a 12-week summer program beginning May 17, 2027. The role is designed for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.

The internship offers exposure to real projects, mentorship, and opportunities to work alongside senior staff, with no relocation or housing assistance provided. Start dates may be flexible within the summer period.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering program with anticipated graduation Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in civil engineering and growth in related projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
• Committed to workplace safety and company policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Water Resources Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
