Job summary

WSP USA invites motivated students to join our Southeast Water Team as a Full-Time Water Resources Engineering Intern in our Miami, FL office (Sunrise, FL also considered). This 12-week summer internship starts around May 17, 2027 and offers hands-on exposure to real projects while working with senior staff.

You will develop technical, social, and ethical skills through structured tasks, field work, and preliminary design work, with mentorship and access to project documentation.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Environmental Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date in 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Demonstrated interest in civil engineering and ability to communicate with engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Basic proficiency with writing, office software, and technical tools; willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Water Resources Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
