Key Responsibilities
- Design systems to safely, efficiently, and effectively transport drinking water and/or wastewater, including pumping and storage projects.
- Assist senior design staff in designing water and/or wastewater treatment plant projects.
- Review and analyze drainage systems for stormwater or floodplains to ensure safety of the ecosystem and public; design necessary conveyance systems.
- Assess the need for treatment systems based on current and projected demands; conduct feasibility studies for public utility infrastructure.
- Analyze various water and wastewater treatment technologies and recommend the most effective methods.
- Design and develop specifications for pumping and force main systems.
- Collaborate with contractors and government agencies on project construction.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and codes.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare technical reports on water/wastewater collection, treatment, or distribution.
- Provide clients with technical support and expertise on water resources issues.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for projects.
- Align with marketing on RFPs, presentations, and project scoping.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Experience designing water treatment plants is a plus.
- 5+ years in public infrastructure projects related to Water Resources.
- Project and client management experience.
- Ability to guide junior staff and participate in multi-disciplinary project design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative.
- Detail-oriented team player.
