Job summary

EMH&T, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Engineer, PE for our Columbus, OH office to lead and grow our water resources and stormwater projects.

You will mentor junior staff, manage complex hydraulic analyses, and develop flood risk assessments to support resilient infrastructure. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, FEMA floodplain studies, and design of detention, conveyance, and green infrastructure solutions, with collaboration across local,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
4–8 years of experience in water resources engineering, stormwater management, and floodplain management.
Strong technical report writing ability.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS for design, analysis, and floodplain studies.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, analysis, design, calculations, and delivery of water resources and stormwater projects.
Work independently and in teams with engineering professionals.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for watersheds, streams, and stormwater systems.
Prepare flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and watershed master plans.
Lead or support proposal development including scope, approach, staffing, schedules, and estimates.
Develop FEMA floodplain mapping studies and related documentation.
Design stormwater systems including detention, retention, conveyance, and green infrastructure.
Coordinate with FEMA, USACE, EPA, and state agencies.
Perform field assessments and document technical findings.
Manage schedules, budgets, QC, and client communications.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
