Job summary

RK&K’s Water Resources group in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring a Water Resources Engineer to design and analyze drainage and stormwater systems, erosion control, hydrology, and watershed studies for transportation and environmental projects.

The role involves preparing construction plans, reports, and environmental permit drawings, supporting field investigations, and collaborating with other disciplines to deliver solutions. Hybrid work options are available as part of our benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Two (2) + years of experience in Civil Water Resources or Transportation Engineering.
Working knowledge of basic hydrologic and hydraulic principles.
EIT or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Experience with MicroStation/AutoCAD.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both collaboratively/in a team environment and independently.

Responsibilities

Proactively deliver a wide range of water resource projects including drainage design, flood studies, watershed plans, erosion/sediment control plans, scour analysis, outfall stabilization/ stream restoration plans, and other related projects in accordance with the scope, schedule, and budget set by the project manager.
Evaluate bridge hydraulics and scour countermeasures.
Design erosion and sediment control systems.
Prepare construction plans, specifications, design reports, technical memoranda, and miscellaneous contract documents.
Prepare environmental permit drawings, applications, and reports.
Support field investigations/evaluations when required.
Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges.
