Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a Water Resources Engineer in South Carolina to lead design and coordination of stormwater projects. You will analyze hydrologic data and develop conveyance systems in line with project criteria.

Responsibilities include preparing reports and permit documents, coordinating with clients and agencies, and mentoring junior staff to ensure quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• 5–10 years civil engineering experience with water resources and related infrastructure.
• SC Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency with CAD, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software, and MS Office.
• Strong written and oral communication with project teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, and topographic data to support water resources assignments.
• Perform watershed delineations, drainage area mapping, hydrologic computations, and hydraulic analyses to establish design criteria.
• Design stormwater management systems and related water resources infrastructure.
• Use modeling, design software, and drawing tools to develop calculations and layouts.
• Prepare stormwater reports, permit exhibits, design narratives, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare engineering documents for permitting, bidding, and construction; include plans, specs, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, permitting agencies, subconsultants, and internal teams.
• Attend meetings, document decisions, and support follow-up coordination.
• Perform quality reviews of calculations and design documents.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
